First Day of School

Although yesterday we had a half day of school, today we have a full day. I have 18 students and it seems like a nice group. They talk a lot, so we are trying to put a stop to that right now so I can pretend to have control :) I have to admit, even though I complained about having to come back, now that I am back, I really enjoy it.
We went on a "space walk" around the school getting hints that led us to another place in the school. This was a fun way to learn where the office, music room, pe room, library, computer room, and principals office are. At the end, we went back to the room and found moon pies hidden in the room so we got a treat!

Last night was the open house at the brand new intermediate school. Although I received random tours during construction, it is not the same when it is done, so J and I headed over there and got a tour. It is such a beautiful building, we have to be jealous of those that work in it! Although ours is about as good, we just don't have the amazing storage they have.

J said his class seems good, he has some onry boys though. They were lining up yesterday and I guess he had the girls line up and then the boys line up. The boys were complaining so he asked them if one boy would like to come up to the front. After there were some volunteers, they got the joy of holding the door for the whole class! I thought that was pretty sneaky!

Speaking of Jeffrey, he got recruited to ref football games!! The main guy that does it broke his leg and they were shorthanded anyway, so Jeffrey got called and personally invited to ref! And then they asked him to pretty much start at varsity! He decided he wanted some practice at middle school before he tried that, but will probably end up having to!

We got a new compluter, so not only have internet at home but also have our own computer! It is pretty exciting, especially because I (Jeffrey) figured out how to get wireless to work so we aren't just stuck in one room anymore! Yay!

Camping and Boating

I spent a good half hour on Monday trying to get all of the pictures on and captions below them and when I previewed them, they were so scattered so I will just tell you about it and put the pictures on in bulk. Jeffrey and I went with Heidi and Jared to Deer Creek this weekend to go boating, afterward we went and stayed at Heidi's parents and then headed up to Vernon Reservoir to go camping. We went four wheeling, dune buggying, walked on stilts, Jeff caught a walleye! We camped in the middle of the desert so it was very dusty and very dirty there. I have to admit, the company was fabulous!! I do not really like camping at all, but still managed to have a little fun amongst being dirty and having to go to the bathroom on the ground!!!

Where did summer go?

Well last week I had a lot of fun at the golf tournament. It is always fun to run into high school friends. Its guaranteed to be a weekend of very little sleep and a lot of fun! The tournament runs Friday-Sunday, usually ending about 6 on Sunday. However, this year we weren't done until about 10 Sunday night. There was a thunderstorm and that turned into a 2 and a half hour delay!!! We had to clear the course and it was amazing how many people could fit into the golf course bar!!!

Today is the last day of summer school and tomorrow starts good ol' inservices! We are taking the students swimming this afternoon in celebration of making it through! I just still can't believe how fast time flies. I admit, I am excited to see the other teachers and have the school be busy again. It gets quite lonely and quiet during summer school.

Yesterday was a somewhat lazy day. I got back from church, ate lunch, and then took a three hour nap! When I woke up I sure was ready to work! J and I rearranged the furniture in our room and did lots of laundry and cleaning-still doesnt look like we did much though! We have quite a ways to go :) But I am beginning to be okay to throw things away instead of wanting to store it and of course never miss it!

I have to admit, this summer-although fast-was pretty much amazing!!!

Crocs and Jeans

Jeffrey came up to school to work today and he doesn't have service in his room. I haven't quite learned this and tend to still call him or text him when I am ready to go home. Well, he was in his room and gets a voicemail. Secretly cussing me out he starts to go outside to check it, then he gets another one. He is about ready to march down to the room and talk to me about patience. But instead he goes and checks the voicemail. The first is a lady from the valley asking him to come sub on their softball team. The next is Heidi saying there was no possible way that he can play unless he throws the game-yeah they are playing eachother. Of course Heidi is joking and J gets ready to play. I go with him for moral support. About 30 seconds before the game starts, they run out and ask me to play! Of course I wanted to-its a blast BUT I am wearing crocs and jeans. Yes, its true, I played in crocs and jeans. I even got on base twice! Yay! It was VERY strange and a bit awkward to play against Heidi and Jared. But we won, so all was good. :)

Pampered Chef

So last night I went to a pampered chef party at Heidi's. Jeffrey came along to help with the girls and hang out with Jared. I may not be much of a cook, but I really really like pampered chef things. I went through the catalog and marked everything that I essentially "wanted" and it ended up being like one thing on every page!!! I would love to sell pampered chef just to get the initial starter kit, but you have to do at least four shows to keep the kit, and with my knowledge of the kitchen, those could be scary shows!!! They say the 'uncook' could sell it perfectly because of how easy the products are and the training they give you. Hmmm. I have been known to burn tomato soup, miraculously turn my cheese red while shredding it, and set spatulas on fire!! I truly think that an 'uncook' pampered chef representative in my case would not be good!!

We hadn't been at Heidi and Jared's for about a week (I know- hard to believe). So we showed up an hour later and didn't leave until midnight. It was quite hard to get up and go to work today. Which reminds me. Summer school started on Tuesday. Its true, my summer is officially OVER! With the wedding and honeymoon, I feel like there really wasn't a summer. But what was of the summer was AMAZING! Just quick. J is subbing for me the next two days so I can go work a golf tournament in Nebraska. I am crazy excited for it!

Softball and Horses

Well Jeffrey and I are members of the pioneer days consolation championship team! Yay! We had a blast and ended up being a little bit sore after all was said and done. We played 5 games and in those 5 games I only struck out TWICE!!!! Last year, I MAYBE it the ball two times, so this was a huge jump for me! I played second base and caught a line drive! Jeff had two home runs!! We were quite a pair! Here is Jared and Heidi, Kyle and Heather, and Jeffrey and I!

The tournament ended on Saturday and on Sunday Kyle and Heather invited us to go to horse races!! The good news was we didn't really lose any money, but the bad news was we didn't win any either. It was a really fun time. Heather had candy from the parade and strangely enough the man in front of us kept turning around and asking for some. I am not sure I could ever do that! Heather was fabulous and kept giving him some. Darn mooch anyway :) Here we are at the races!!

Finally back!!

It has been forever since this was updated! The wedding was so short! With a year of planning, I just assumed it would not go by that fast. But it did! It was perfect though! I loved seeing friends and family that I hadn't seen forever. It was so hard to talk to all of them and I feel bad that they drove so far and we didn't get a chance to talk to them much. Thank you so much to our friends and family! It was so great to have so many people there to support us and see us start the future together. Yay!

Next, the honemoon was AMAZING!! We went on a catamaran (no idea how to spell that) around the island and saw a drive in volcano, waterfall, and went snorkling! We played pool volleyball, beach volleyball, darts, and were in a putting competition. We were so busy that I don't think we actually just layed out by the beach. We did get to go swimming a bit in the
ocean. It is a definite that we are going back!!! Here are some pictures! I will post more as we get them downloaded!
