Christmas Cards

While I was thinking of this, we have a lot of Christmas cards that are yet to be sent out. We can't seem to get it all together. First, we ran out of stamps, then when we got the stamps, we lost the pictures but we are thinking of you!!!

Christmas Vacation

It is sad to say, but our Christmas break is pretty much up. Jeffrey started practice today, but the break was well worth it. We started out at a tournament in Douglas. J rode the bus and I drove up behind him after school. Our teams went 4 and 2. Craig and Lennie came up and watched the last few games. We took off Saturday night to head to Alliance. We got there late only to get up early and take off to Norfolk. The plan was to stop in Hartington at my aunt and uncles right away, but weather prohibited us from doing that. They live in the country and the wind and snow had blocked the way to get into their houses. We kept trucking and got to Norfolk to visit my Grandma. We took her out to eat and went shopping that evening. The next morning we opened presents with her and then headed to Lincoln. In Lincoln, we got to see a bunch of my cousins. It was fun because there were a bunch that Jeffrey hadn't met yet. From there we went into Omaha and visited another aunt and uncles house where another bunch of my cousins dropped by to visit. This whole trip was really exciting because it had been 10 or so years since I had seen a lot of them. Thank you so much to my aunt and uncles for opening up their homes to us and coming to see us, and thanks to my cousins for coming out in the cold and bad roads to have a visit.
We left Omaha about 9pm. It made for a very late trip home. We got back to Alliance about 4 in the morning and my dad had to be at work at 6!! Needless to say, he was ready for a nap when he got off work.
We went to Torrington Christmas day and got to visit Jeffrey's Aunt Lois and Aunt Lucille. It was a really nice time and enjoyable to see them. Then we went onto Lingle and met up with Criag, Lennie, Josh, Kara, Brecken, Joel, Annie, Karlee, Trevor, and Hailey. As always, it was great to see them all and we had an enjoyable time. We then took off to Cheyenne to do some after Christmas shopping and have Christmas over at Brady and Stacey's with Parker, Beverly, David, and Kevin. It seems that visits with everyone seem too infrequent. We don't have many pictures, but will post some when we get them uploaded!

AND the big news IS......

ITS A GIRL!!!! Yay!!! I have to admit we would have been just as excited had they said boy, but its so fun to know!!! We found out last Thursday but then took off to Christmas and decided to announce it in person to our parents before announcing it on here. We got to of course have an ultrasound. That is so my favorite thing to do. We get to see her playing around and kicking and opening and closing her mouth. She had the hiccups so we watched that, it was so cute!!! And so the shopping begins.....

Christmas Dance Recital

So tonight was my first dance recital. Jeffrey had an away game so was unable to come :( But I missed his game too so I can't complain much! :) Well, one of my friends was online and I got to talking to her and lost track of time, when I noticed the time, I hopped off the couch and took off to my car. I got about halfway to the recital and realized that I hadn't switched from my slippers into my shoes! Unfortunately, I was running too late to go back! Luckily my pants were brown and somewhat matched the slippers so it worked out okay. They weren't the easiest to run around in, but who knows, maybe I started a new fashion statement!!!

You know its been too long since you made a post when.....

the address isn't in your recently viewed websites! I had to go to Kara's blog in order to get to mine! Well, I could have typed it in, but that takes too long!
Jeffrey started his basketball season, I guess it been a while now. It keeps him very busy and NEVER home, but he loves it, so of course so do I. :) We had games Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of last week and games Monday, Tuesday and a tournament this weekend. I try to go to a lot of the games, but I am beginning to realize that sitting in the stands for that many games not only hurts my bum but also hurts my back! We are looking at getting those fancy stadium seats.
We just got around to putting up the Christmas tree (as most of you know, Jeffrey likes to wait until AFTER his birthday!!) I got him convinced to do it earlier, then our house wasn't clean enough to get it up! We are in the process of painting the back bedroom and all of that furniture is in our dining room, therefore making our living room the dumping grounds for EVERYTHING!! I have to admit, with everything J has to do, he has been working really hard at getting everything around the house done too. I just wish I could help a little bit more. But the room looks FABULOUS so far! The next room we attack is the baby's room--YAY!

Exciting!

We heard the heartbeat today!! We had seen it but never heard it so we were way excited! As for other news....there isn't much going on. We bought a crib and are starting to try to set up the baby's room! Jeffrey started practice on Monday and has had late practices every day this week. It makes for a late night. It seems that he is enjoying it so I suppose I can try to get used to it :)

The Baby Belly

Beth finally decided that she was showing as we were getting ready for work. So here is the first of the baby belly pics. This is at 14 weeks.

Late Halloween Posting

So in order to actually get pictures uploaded and at the right computer at a time I have time, it sometimes takes a little bit. Everyone told me that I should go as a 9 month pregnant lady for Halloween. I thought it was an okay idea, but really had no desire to. The next morning I figured I would try it and as I am putting on my 'costume' I realize it would be much more comical if Jeffrey went as the pregnant lady. After LOTS of persuasion, I got him to put the costume on. It is true that once students and parents came to school he had already changed, but regardless, the teachers saw it and it was FABULOUS!!! I wanted to share it with all of you.

Finally!!

I promised the picture a long time ago. J tells me I make promises on the blog and don't fulfill them so here is the picture!! Yay!! This was at 10 weeks, we are now at 13.5 weeks. I am at the in between stage where my normal clothes don't fit but neither do the maternity. It makes a frustrating morning every morning! I am also told to post a belly pic....I am glad I didn't promise that!! But Jeffrey agreed so I am sure that is coming within the next few entries.

Fun Weekend!

This weekend, I met my friend in Denver. It was a three day weekend for me and seemed like a perfect time. We both got to getaway for a bit and catch up on some much needed time. We stayed at the best hotel ever. It had free shuttles everywhere we needed to go! They took us downtown to two different malls as well as to the airport. We did lots of shopping and went to a movie. It has been close to 4 years since her and I have just hung out and it was fabulous!
On the way back from the airport, J and I stopped at a baby store and made our first purchase! We bought a stroller! We have been researching them online for awhile and got to actually play around with our top two choices and picked our favorite of the two. Yay! We are now officially past three months and that much closer. Crazy!!

Weekend Snowstorm

Friday was the first day that I have been at school and would have rather curled up in a hole. I got SO sick! This school is absolutely amazing though. We had a lot of students missing, so kindergarten let me borrow a para for the afternoon so I didn't have to do a whole lot. And then the fabulous husband took them for the last 45 minutes. Our classes read together, so it worked okay. I thought for a brief moment that I had maybe caught the flu from the students, but I didn't really have any signs for it!
My parents came up this weekend. It was a laid back weekend. We had plans to travel, but with the snow coming down and the storm expected in Salt Lake, we changed our minds! Instead, we had an enjoyable, relaxing weekend in fabulous Lyman!
This is J's last week of football (yay!) It will be nice to have a few weeks of him not rushing off to practice and being able to drive to work together!

I have had every intention...

...to scan the baby picture on, but getting the picture and a scanner and a computer at the same time seems impossible. They even held a class on scanning last night! However, I had a different meeting to go to so I didn't get to go to that.
Jeffrey is just finishing up his last full week of football. Next Tuesday is his last game! I am excited to have him home a bit more often. At least for a few weeks until basketball starts up.
I had my first day of teaching dance class on Tuesday. I LOVED IT!!! I have a class of kindergarten-first graders, a class of 3-4 year olds and one with 4-5 year olds. I have a few of my students so that makes it a bit more fun. The little ones are so cute because they try so hard but just cant get their feet and legs to work! My last class was a bit....awkward. I couldn't get them to MOVE! Usually little kids have the best dance moves. Not this group. They just stared at me. No one wanted to move. It was even harder because almost every parent stayed. I had a few in the other classes, but this class had EVERY parent there. I think that was a bit of the reason they wouldn't move too. But I will focus on the first two knowing how fun they are and keep my fingers crossed for the last class next week!

WOOHOO!!

Well, I have waited to post on the blog because we had news that was impossible to not tell and we wanted to wait. Now, we think it’s a good time. We are pregnant!! We found out in the middle of August. It was one of those things that I knew from day 1. I was feeling horrible and sick to my stomach most of the day all the time and knew that something was up. I had decided to go to the doctor…..until I got to thinking. I then decided I should wait a few weeks to check that option. Turns out the first test we took was a bit indecisive. While Jeffrey swore it was a plus sign, I kept saying it wasn’t dark enough. We decided to get a digital readout so tried again. I felt the need to take the test at three in the morning and of course had to wake up J right then (although he already knew). We were going home two weekends from then to see both sets of our parents so decided it was a good time to tell them because they would all be together. So we told them and just swore them to secrecy since we hadn’t been to the doctor or anything. I had to triple and quadruple check before we told them the news (we should have bought stock in pregnancy tests!) We have been to the doctor twice now and actually got to see it! I will post a picture of the ultrasound as soon as I can get to a scanner. The due date is May 1st! Yay!

Honeymoon Recap

So I was reminiscing with a friend about the honeymoon and decided to post new pictures of those on here. There isn't much new going on around here so I figured we can back up to previous news instead! It makes me want to go back!!

Weekend Golf and Recipes

Well Jeffrey and I went to Torrington for the holiday weekend. Him, Craig, and my dad played in a golf tournament Saturday and Sunday. Whats great is they got second!!! Yay! They only got second by a stroke and a half. Woohoo!
Saturday evening the friends at prairie center threw us a wedding shower. It was a shower where they gave us recipes and ingredients to them! It was so fun! Cooking advice and good recipes are always appreciated! I also enjoyed getting to know the people Jeffrey grew up around and talks about quite a bit.
We borrowed Craig and Lennie's truck this weekend to get my piano and our firepit home. We went through some rain and some hail, but luckily we had it protected enough that it still made it safely! Today two fellow coaches came over and helped us unload it. It is officially safe and in the house!
The news of the day is...J won't be reffing football this year. INSTEAD he will be coaching middle school football! They had too many students go out and needed to hire another coach. And because Jeffrey is so loved by pretty much everyone he got the job!

First Day of School

Although yesterday we had a half day of school, today we have a full day. I have 18 students and it seems like a nice group. They talk a lot, so we are trying to put a stop to that right now so I can pretend to have control :) I have to admit, even though I complained about having to come back, now that I am back, I really enjoy it.
We went on a "space walk" around the school getting hints that led us to another place in the school. This was a fun way to learn where the office, music room, pe room, library, computer room, and principals office are. At the end, we went back to the room and found moon pies hidden in the room so we got a treat!

Last night was the open house at the brand new intermediate school. Although I received random tours during construction, it is not the same when it is done, so J and I headed over there and got a tour. It is such a beautiful building, we have to be jealous of those that work in it! Although ours is about as good, we just don't have the amazing storage they have.

J said his class seems good, he has some onry boys though. They were lining up yesterday and I guess he had the girls line up and then the boys line up. The boys were complaining so he asked them if one boy would like to come up to the front. After there were some volunteers, they got the joy of holding the door for the whole class! I thought that was pretty sneaky!

Speaking of Jeffrey, he got recruited to ref football games!! The main guy that does it broke his leg and they were shorthanded anyway, so Jeffrey got called and personally invited to ref! And then they asked him to pretty much start at varsity! He decided he wanted some practice at middle school before he tried that, but will probably end up having to!

We got a new compluter, so not only have internet at home but also have our own computer! It is pretty exciting, especially because I (Jeffrey) figured out how to get wireless to work so we aren't just stuck in one room anymore! Yay!

Camping and Boating

I spent a good half hour on Monday trying to get all of the pictures on and captions below them and when I previewed them, they were so scattered so I will just tell you about it and put the pictures on in bulk. Jeffrey and I went with Heidi and Jared to Deer Creek this weekend to go boating, afterward we went and stayed at Heidi's parents and then headed up to Vernon Reservoir to go camping. We went four wheeling, dune buggying, walked on stilts, Jeff caught a walleye! We camped in the middle of the desert so it was very dusty and very dirty there. I have to admit, the company was fabulous!! I do not really like camping at all, but still managed to have a little fun amongst being dirty and having to go to the bathroom on the ground!!!

Where did summer go?

Well last week I had a lot of fun at the golf tournament. It is always fun to run into high school friends. Its guaranteed to be a weekend of very little sleep and a lot of fun! The tournament runs Friday-Sunday, usually ending about 6 on Sunday. However, this year we weren't done until about 10 Sunday night. There was a thunderstorm and that turned into a 2 and a half hour delay!!! We had to clear the course and it was amazing how many people could fit into the golf course bar!!!

Today is the last day of summer school and tomorrow starts good ol' inservices! We are taking the students swimming this afternoon in celebration of making it through! I just still can't believe how fast time flies. I admit, I am excited to see the other teachers and have the school be busy again. It gets quite lonely and quiet during summer school.

Yesterday was a somewhat lazy day. I got back from church, ate lunch, and then took a three hour nap! When I woke up I sure was ready to work! J and I rearranged the furniture in our room and did lots of laundry and cleaning-still doesnt look like we did much though! We have quite a ways to go :) But I am beginning to be okay to throw things away instead of wanting to store it and of course never miss it!

I have to admit, this summer-although fast-was pretty much amazing!!!

Crocs and Jeans

Jeffrey came up to school to work today and he doesn't have service in his room. I haven't quite learned this and tend to still call him or text him when I am ready to go home. Well, he was in his room and gets a voicemail. Secretly cussing me out he starts to go outside to check it, then he gets another one. He is about ready to march down to the room and talk to me about patience. But instead he goes and checks the voicemail. The first is a lady from the valley asking him to come sub on their softball team. The next is Heidi saying there was no possible way that he can play unless he throws the game-yeah they are playing eachother. Of course Heidi is joking and J gets ready to play. I go with him for moral support. About 30 seconds before the game starts, they run out and ask me to play! Of course I wanted to-its a blast BUT I am wearing crocs and jeans. Yes, its true, I played in crocs and jeans. I even got on base twice! Yay! It was VERY strange and a bit awkward to play against Heidi and Jared. But we won, so all was good. :)

Pampered Chef

So last night I went to a pampered chef party at Heidi's. Jeffrey came along to help with the girls and hang out with Jared. I may not be much of a cook, but I really really like pampered chef things. I went through the catalog and marked everything that I essentially "wanted" and it ended up being like one thing on every page!!! I would love to sell pampered chef just to get the initial starter kit, but you have to do at least four shows to keep the kit, and with my knowledge of the kitchen, those could be scary shows!!! They say the 'uncook' could sell it perfectly because of how easy the products are and the training they give you. Hmmm. I have been known to burn tomato soup, miraculously turn my cheese red while shredding it, and set spatulas on fire!! I truly think that an 'uncook' pampered chef representative in my case would not be good!!

We hadn't been at Heidi and Jared's for about a week (I know- hard to believe). So we showed up an hour later and didn't leave until midnight. It was quite hard to get up and go to work today. Which reminds me. Summer school started on Tuesday. Its true, my summer is officially OVER! With the wedding and honeymoon, I feel like there really wasn't a summer. But what was of the summer was AMAZING! Just quick. J is subbing for me the next two days so I can go work a golf tournament in Nebraska. I am crazy excited for it!

Softball and Horses

Well Jeffrey and I are members of the pioneer days consolation championship team! Yay! We had a blast and ended up being a little bit sore after all was said and done. We played 5 games and in those 5 games I only struck out TWICE!!!! Last year, I MAYBE it the ball two times, so this was a huge jump for me! I played second base and caught a line drive! Jeff had two home runs!! We were quite a pair! Here is Jared and Heidi, Kyle and Heather, and Jeffrey and I!

The tournament ended on Saturday and on Sunday Kyle and Heather invited us to go to horse races!! The good news was we didn't really lose any money, but the bad news was we didn't win any either. It was a really fun time. Heather had candy from the parade and strangely enough the man in front of us kept turning around and asking for some. I am not sure I could ever do that! Heather was fabulous and kept giving him some. Darn mooch anyway :) Here we are at the races!!

Finally back!!

It has been forever since this was updated! The wedding was so short! With a year of planning, I just assumed it would not go by that fast. But it did! It was perfect though! I loved seeing friends and family that I hadn't seen forever. It was so hard to talk to all of them and I feel bad that they drove so far and we didn't get a chance to talk to them much. Thank you so much to our friends and family! It was so great to have so many people there to support us and see us start the future together. Yay!

Next, the honemoon was AMAZING!! We went on a catamaran (no idea how to spell that) around the island and saw a drive in volcano, waterfall, and went snorkling! We played pool volleyball, beach volleyball, darts, and were in a putting competition. We were so busy that I don't think we actually just layed out by the beach. We did get to go swimming a bit in the
ocean. It is a definite that we are going back!!! Here are some pictures! I will post more as we get them downloaded!
